At Origins, during a Capture the Flag event, White Wolf has apparently used a flag with a battle slogan: "I'd rather kill a dude than have AIDS".

Now, I find this utterly fascinating. For the past two years I tried thinking up a battle cry more offensive then "Free speach for the stupid" or "Fascists are Jews", which I used interchangably during Counter Strike LAN games. I thought it couldn't be done. It would seem that just about anyone who either doesn't know me well or isn't well adjusted enough to realize the value of absurd humor got instantly offended when I indicated that, by having free speach rights, he is stupid. Or that I am offending the Jews by saying they are fascists (or offending the fascists by saying they are jews? It really goes both ways... especially in Serbia where it seems you can't throw a rock without hitting a neo-nazi, a general Jew-hater or something akin to that (yes, those people need to die a violent death - one of the reasons I hate Serbia)).

And after two years, here comes White Wolf with something more offensive then either of those two battle cries. I am dumbfounded. How come I never figured out that popular diseases which have no cure would be the most offensive topic! Damn, that was SO OBVIOUS. Well, I bow before the might of a superior offending body.

As most likely expected but still utterly ridiculous, seems White Wolf is piled with claims of tons of people saying they are offended and whatnot. Now I am asking here, all the people who happen to reading this. Why do people act offended by such things? Are they also the people who don't allow their kids (younger sibblings, pets, imaginary friends) to watch South Park and claim Marylin Manson is the main reason Columbine happened? Are any of you offended? If yes, why? I'm truly interested.

P.S.
There might be a more offensive battle cry, though. I still haven't formulated it, but I think implying that "towelheads" have cancer and are trying to hide their bald heads with towels would be pretty offensive. Though, that might not be offensive to United Statesians who vote for Bush.

I could think of a few more offensive slogans involving crib death...

Hm, a point well made. Though that stuff might actually /be/ offensive. I recall being pissed off by some guy on Puerto Nostra who had an utterly tasteless comment concerning certain redhead ST's pregnant condition.

Also, I thank you, sir. Without this comment I would have truly belived that no topic can be offensive to me. Nasty coments abut Patsy aside, that is.

Another thing dropped to mind. I actually tried to form a political party which would primarily be concerned with legalizing postnatal abortions in the first 180 months after the birth. Though that's not really the same as crib death.

I don't think it's offensive at all, that slogan.

I'd personally rather kill someone than die a slow horrid death myself.

who the hell wants aids?

Well, apparently, people get offended because they "know people with AIDS". Or "have AIDS"/ It's offensive to them. Because, see, it makes fun of that condition. And no one knows what true suffering is but they.

Truth be told, I think everyoen realized hw idiotic it is to claim that a slogan like that offended you because you know a person with AIDS. So they started bitching how it's a breach of Camarilla fanclub Code of Conduct, in regards to Cam volonteers present at the Origins.

I don't get people.

I know people with aids too.

And they'd probably rather kill someone than have it.

People who get that easily offended, though, I love them.

Because you see, I have this way of being able to push people's buttons and nothing pleases me more than to piss someone off until their face turns bright red.

Watch...i'm bout to msg you and make you mad...

I agree. I only skimmed the original post where is had the slogan, but kind of assumed it was meant in the vein of "I'll defend myself" (say, from rape or being stuck by a junkie needle).
